The Brandenburg engineer office Zissel won the first prize, which is worth 10,000 Euros. With their project "RFID transponder in a metal case," the identification of metal objects will be tremendously facilitated.The office Berlin Questor secured the second prize, endowed with 6,000 Euros with its application (also called Berlin Questor) that creates a development environment for computer games and gamification-as-a-service platform.

The culture portal Carpe Berlin won the third prize worth 4,000 Euros with their project “Mind tags” that assists visually impaired people, using acoustic information based on NFC tags.The winners in the junior field include Issam Bendaas with his project "iCityRoute" (a mobile app for travelers and tourists, enabling them to discover the top sights of a city) and Jan Gerrit Essbach with his project "Mobile Dinner" (a mobile software solution for optimization of business processes in the restaurant business). The winners will receive cash prizes and certificates.

The encouragement of the ICT, Media and Creative Industry cluster is one of the main aims of Berlin's economy policy. Through the use of competitions, Berlin wants to add impulses for the economic development of the capital city region, initiate concrete cooperation projects and support regional as well as supra-regional networks.The Berlin based Wireless Transfer- and Development- Center BeWiTEC, which is located at Berlin's College for Technology and Economy, manages to create a platform for wireless technologies within the scope of the competition initiative “Berlin – Made to Create”. This initiative shows Berlin and Brandenburg's potentials in regards to wireless applications and solutions, focuses on the knowledge and technology transfer and furthermore presents explorative and development findings for the economy.

As part of the innovation strategy of Berlin-Brandenburg mutual cooperation undertakings are focused on: The states Berlin and Brandenburg as well as the BeWiTEC, call up on June 6th 2012 for a Best-Practice Competition directed at the development of the IT-location Berlin- Brandenburg in regards to the fields of wireless applications and technologies.Project proposals can be sent to the BeWiTEC until July 31st 2012. The best project proposals are awarded with price money and material prizes.
