Introduction

In today's urban life, people are increasingly concerned about their living environment. Although in this complex urban system, the improvement of the living environment of urban residents is minimal and difficult to detect, we cannot deny that these positive behaviors are happening all the time. However, as urban inhabitants, planners, government agencies, developers... we have to rethink the future of the city to seek a harmonious unity between the urban environment and the residents' lives. Taking this as a starting point, MINI and Enorme Studio completed a device design and displayed it in the Plaza Santa María Soledad Torres Acosta in Madrid.

Details

When it comes to future design, we must think about energy issues in design. Design is to take sustainable development as a responsibility. This design uses renewable energy to serve this public space device to urban residents with public meeting functions. The unit will be equipped with a USB jack and a reading corner illuminated by solar energy, where the public can use the power source to charge the device. This new feature and innovative ideas are expected to ease everyday power stress.
The exploration of future design needs to be brainstorming and requires the participation of all people. MINI has been rooted in many creative activities in the Malasaña community for many years. Now in this installation, the MINI Hub will be open to all citizens. The activities in the installation will focus on the future urban design by designers and the public. For example, “Bench a Day” will explore urban architectural sketch design, interactive urban space design, public event experimental space, and various forms of future cities. debate. All activities will be centered around the city and discussed on the premise of interdisciplinary and intergenerational collaboration.
The device demonstrates a mobile, accessible designer studio platform that underscores the core idea that designers need to work with urban residents to complete urban design. This series of efforts demonstrates the design team's commitment to improving urban life and rational use of urban resources, perfectly suited to its "creative space utilization" design philosophy.

Conclusions

The harmonious integration of urban environment and residents' life is the focus of future design. Public participation and interdisciplinary cooperation are conducive to the exploration and advancement of future designs.
